The University of Western Australia (UWA)  is one of Australia’s well-known universities. The elite Group of 8 universities includes the Perth-based university. The Group of 8 (Go8), like the Russell Group in the UK and the Ivy League in the US, is a group that represents the leading institutions in Australia. In addition, the university ranks in the top 100 in the QS World University Rankings.

Another factor contributing to the University of Western Australia’s strong national and international rankings is the quality of life on and out of campus. UWA is ranked first in terms of student’s experience in Australia by the International Student Barometer survey. The university offers more than 160 groups for students to join, as well as homes to cafes and shops scattered throughout the campus to enhance student life. Students are introduced to one of the most livable cities in Australia for international students when they want to spend some time away from campus. The Australian government provides a variety of unique incentives to cover expenses for overseas students, including a 40% discount on all public transportation and offers post-study work visa extensions for those who wish to continue their education after graduation. The university also provides scholarships, such as the Global Excellence Scholarship, which can reduce a student’s annual tuition bill by up to 12,000 AUD (from 40,900 AUD).
